SASP HEAD OFFICE REPORT ON COMMON QUERIES

Period: 1 October 2004 to 30 November 2004

Question 1

Why does Head Office not notify its members, or acknowledge the receipt of
membership fees paid on registration, or re-registration

Answer to Q1

The SASP Head Office is pleased to inform members that a new Bulk SMS System
has been implemented, and is now fully functional. One of it’s purposes,
amongst others, is to serve as notification to our members and acknowledgement
of membership fees received.

Question 2

There have been numerous requests for guidelines on the salary structure and
employment contracts to be used by Physiotherapy practice owners, in the employment
of Full-time and part-time Physiotherapy staff, as well as for non-physiotherapy
staff, employed in their practices.

Answer to Q2

Members of the SASP Tariff Committee, in conjunction with SASP Head Office,
have compiled templates of the various employment contracts, and a basic conditions
of employment document as requested, and have sent copies out with the 4U2NO
PhysioFocus Newsletter (Issue#2). If you are a paid up PhysioFocus member, and
have received your electronic, or physical copies, please contact Head Office

Question 3

Numerous queries have also been received, regarding the use of the new ICD
10 Coding system.

Answer to Q3

The tariff committee has also compiled a guide named “The Idiot’s
Guide to ICD 10 Codes”, which was also made available to all paid up PhysioFocus
Members. If you have not received your cop, please contact Head Office for assistance.

Question 4

A few Basic members, who are in private practice, have requested the 2005 tariffs,
which are currently given to PhysioFocus members as part of the benefits of
belonging to this category of membership.

Answer to Q4

Unfortunately the tariffs are provided only to paid up PhysioFocus members,
as part of their benefits. On this note, the SASP would like to encourage physiotherapists
in private practice to register as PhysioFocus A1, or PhysioFocus A2 Members,
so they can enjoy the benefits, some of which have been highlighted to questions
3 and 2 above.
